Cleaning tablets for espresso machines

Each pack contains 10 cleaning tablets.

In general, we recommend cleaning and descaling the machine more frequently if it is used often. If the espresso machine is used daily, we recommend cleaning and descaling it approximately once a week.

To clean the machine, please proceed as follows:

• Fill the machine's water tank with sufficient water (at least 1 liter), empty the drip tray, reinsert it, and switch on the machine.
• Place the blind filter (item no. 145879 / 130331) in the 2-cup filter insert of the filter holder.
• Now place a Graef cleaning tablet in the filter insert of the portafilter.
• Insert the portafilter into the machine.
• Place a larger container, e.g., the Graef milk jug, under the spout of the portafilter.
• Now start the espresso extraction. Stop it after 15 seconds. Now wait 15 seconds and repeat the espresso extraction for 15 seconds. Then wait another 15 seconds. Repeat this procedure three more times (total cleaning time: approx. 4 minutes). The brewing water from the pipes is drained into the drip tray after each process.
• Remove the portafilter from the machine. The descaling tablet should now be completely dissolved. You can now remove the blind filter.
• Empty the drip tray, reinsert the portafilter, and run a few empty cycles.
• You can now use the machine to make espresso again.
